LitSpark Youth App

Empowering Language Learners

One Conversation at a Time

The LitSpark App is our most ambitious project yet: an interactive language learning tool designed to help kids improve their speaking and listening skills through real, engaging conversations.

We believe that language learning should be accessible, fun, and confidence-building β€” especially for students who may not have access to tutors or immersion programs. Our app bridges that gap by using speech recognition and conversation-based prompts tailored to young learners.

πŸ›  Our Development Plan

Here’s a look at our roadmap from where we are now to launch:

Phase 1 – Planning & Design (Completed: May–June)

  • Defined core features (speech-based practice, conversation prompts, progress tracking)
  • Sketched wireframes and user flows
  • Researched tools (Flutter, React Native, AI voice tech)
  • Assembled dev & content team

Phase 2 – Core Development (In Progress: June 28 – July 31)

Phase 3 – Beta Testing (August 1–10)

  • Invite small group of students & educators to test app
  • Collect feedback on UI, voice accuracy, and learning experience
  • Fix bugs and make UI/UX improvements

Phase 4 – Launch Prep (August 11–20)

  • Final content updates (more conversation topics)
  • Polish design & animations
  • Set up app store listings (Google Play + Apple App Store)
  • Outreach to schools and partners

🌟 Phase 5 – Official Launch (Target: August 21–28)

  • App goes live!
  • Host virtual launch event
  • Begin outreach to classrooms, nonprofits, and learners everywhere

We’re a youth-led, community-powered team — and we’re always looking for:

  • Beta testers (students, educators, families)
  • Developers (especially Flutter, React, or voice tech)
  • Donors and sponsors to help us scale
  • Content creators for language prompts and curriculum ideas
