Driven by a deep belief in educational equity, she is committed to breaking down barriers that prevent children from accessing the tools they need to thrive.

Lisa Han

Lisa Han directs LitSpark Youth’s initiatives, marketing, and donation partnerships. Through innovation and determination, Lisa is dedicated to creating equal opportunities for underserved youth, and believes literacy should be accessible to all, regardless of background or circumstance.

Maggie Wu

Board of Directors

Maggie Wu leads LitSpark Youth’s technical side. As the lead developer of the LitSpark Youth app, Maggie strives to give all children an opportunity to hone their English-speaking skills, making them more ready to tackle the difficult tasks of tomorrow.

Hannah Gu

Hannah Gu is a student at Earl of March Secondary School dedicated to making literacy accessible to all youth. She is devoted to providing children with the resources needed to become refined readers and writers. Driven by the belief that all young people deserve equal opportunity to express themselves through text, Hannah is committed to improving youth literacy.

Meet Our Directors

Summer Bachhal

Summer is a Co-President at LitSpark youth. For her, literacy is the gateway from limitation to understanding. She supports LitSpark’s initiatives through organized, consistent work and straightforward approaches, viewing literacy as a force that can shift futures.

Vicky Wang

Vicky is a Logistics Officer at LitSpark Youth and a high school student at Merivale High School. As a part of the logistics team, she helps coordinate initiatives that promote literacy and access to educational resources for youth. She is passionate about giving back to her community and contributing towards any sort of project that creates a positive impact for youth and children. Additionally, she believes that access to education and literacy can empower young learners to reach their full potential. Outside of school, Vicky participates in air cadets and volunteers regularly at various camps. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, playing the piano, soccer and badminton.

Vivian Ma

Vivian Ma is a student who enjoys reading, baking, playing games, and working on jigsaw puzzles in her free time. She loves trying new recipes, discovering good books, and spending time with cats. Her favourite dessert is tiramisu, although she is always open to trying something new.
She is passionate about learning and enjoys exploring a variety of interests, from science and languages to creative writing. Through volunteering and other community involvement, she has developed an appreciation for connecting with people and contributing to meaningful causes.
As Logistics Officer at LitSpark Youth, Vivian is excited to support initiatives that promote literacy and help create opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and share their ideas.

Thanvi Nagineni

Thanvi is a student at Merivale High School and serves as one of the Outreach Officers for LitSpark Youth. She hopes to help make literacy more accessible to everyone. As a Bharatanatyam dancer with 13+ years of experience, she is passionate about empowering young people to grow confident and express themselves. She believes every child deserves the opportunity to feel welcomed, valued, and inspired to discover the joy of literacy through LitSpark Youth.

Hargun Kaur

Hargun is a student at Merivale High School with a passion for literacy and lifelong learning. As an Outreach Officer at LitSpark Youth, she is eager to build connections within the community and help expand access to literacy opportunities for children and youth. Guided by her belief that curiosity and learning can open new opportunities and help young people grow in confidence, she is dedicated to giving back to her community and creating a positive impact. Outside of school, Hargun is involved with figure skating, volunteers as a Program Assistant with CanSkate, and participates in the CHEO Youth Forum. In her free time, Hargun enjoys pet sitting, learning new languages, and exploring random facts. As a passionate reader and writer, Hargun hopes to help create meaningful opportunities that inspire a lifelong love for reading and learning.

Anisha Arul

Anisha Arul is a Grade 12 student at Merivale High School. As Expansions Officer, she is committed to building strong and reliable connections in order to help shape successful lives. She believes that ensuring every child has access to the resources needed to build meaningful relationships is essential to strengthening youth communities. Dedicated to supporting the growth of all children, she aims to use LSY to make a lasting impact. In her free time, Anisha enjoys spending time outdoors and with her friends and family.

Marketing Officers

Vicki Liu

Vicki Liu serves as a Marketing Officer at LitSpark Youth with a passion for creativity and youth engagement. She enjoys creating content that helps connect everyone with opportunities to learn, grow, and get involved in their communities. With a particular interest in graphic design and digital media, she loves finding creative ways to share ideas and tell meaningful stories. As a student, she understands the value of spaces where young people can develop new skills, explore their interests, and build confidence. Through her role at LitSpark Youth, she hopes to inspire more youth to pursue their passions and make a positive impact. Outside of LitSpark Youth, she enjoys making memories with friends, trying new creative projects, and working toward her future academic and career goals.

Tanisha Mazumdar

Tanisha Mazumdar is a Grade 11 student at Merivale Highschool and is thrilled to join the Litspark Youth team as a Marketing Officer. She is passionate about education, enjoys learning new things, and believes literacy is a powerful tool that should be accessible to all youth. Through her role, Tanisha hopes to expand Litspark Youth’s reach by promoting its initiatives through creative marketing and giving more students the opportunities to learn and grow. Outside of school, she enjoys working on creative art projects, trying out new ideas,and  collaborating with others to make a positive impact for the local community.
